Carmel

IMG_0613.jpg

Carmel State Beach has the perfect sand for building sandcastles.

The vacation was too short. We had a good time visiting beaches. Next time we ought to spend a night in Carmel.

Today is RugratParents' anniversary. Marriage is hard, especially when there are children involved. RugratMama thinks marriage is like taxes, good for society but bad for individuals. Too much work; too much sacrifices.

Surrey

It was so cold that we had to buy jackets for everybody. We rented a surrey. It was hard. Surreys are heavy. The girls loved it.

Lazy Morning

We stayed at this very nice new hotel on Cannery Row, about 3 blocks away from the aquarium, but we didn't go to the aquarium. We figured there would be too many people there so we might as well do something else.

We went to Monterey for the long weekend. It was 30 degrees cooler. Chilly!

Scraped Knee

IMG_0506.JPG

Today we went crazy. We hiked on Rush Creek Trail at Spenceville Wildlife Area. It was about 5~6 miles roundtrip and it was HOT today. I can't believe Monkey hiked the whole way. I think we will stick with 2-mile hikes for now.

IMG_0502.JPG

The hike looked easy enough, but it would have helped if it were 10 degrees cooler.

RugratDaddy practically carried Rugrat the whole trip. He didn't mind because Rugrat blocked the sun off his neck.

Few times we would let her walk a little, but she would trip over the rocks and scraped her knee. Poor baby.

Resting at the waterfall overlook area. The last climb was pretty steep. Here RugratMama was trying to take macro pictures of a yellow flower in Monkey's hand.
